ReVenture Park

ReVenture Park is a 667 acre industrial development on Catawba River in western Mecklenburg County.  This site was once on the EPA Superfund list.  After extensive remediation, the developers implemented a plan for industrial ecology for clean tech tenants.  The Park is focused on serving the community, and includes plans for aesthetic improvements, education centers, and incubation for forward-thinking small businesses, like Graceful Roots.  GR is a tenant, with a small warehouse facility for plants, materials and equipment.  On site, GR is working with a research group permitted by the NC Dept. of Natural Resources to develop new soil amendments, which are used for an ongoing experiment in creating a Living Wall.

Graceful Roots is proud to be providing landscape design services for a prominent new addition to the park---an alternative fuel filling station.  The station will bring an entirely new aesthetic to the concept of fueling.  Designed by the excellent architectural firm Flux Design, it will include native plants which invite pollinators and other wildlife into the space, a Living Wall, educational garden beds, and a variety of pathways, retaining walls and other features which will redefine the style of such a facility to match the startling new concept of a fueling station without gas.
